People commented on my FB page about being bullied by teachers and parents. Maybe that now comes under the heading of child abuse, but it did remind me of my fourth grade teacher, who for whatever reason, made me her "goat." At some point around Thanksgiving she told me she couldn't "stand to look at "me)" everyday and MOVED BY DESK OUT IN THE HALL. Until February I spent eight hours a day, reading by myself in the hall. I don't know how this teacher made out my report card because I took no tests, was given no homework, because she just decided I wasn't part of the class any more. I figured I must have done something awful, so I didn't tell my parents. They found out themselves when I got sick in February, went up to school for my assignments and discovered I had been exiled. When questioned, the teacher said (I'm not kidding) "Mary Ann decided to teach herself." What? I was doing my own homeschooling? When my mom tried to get me transferred to the other fourth grade, the principal refused her because EVERY OTHER PARENT in that class had asked toy have their child moved too! I was allowed to move to another school in the district, which remains in my memory as four of the happiest months of my life. And no, that teacher was not rehired for the next school year...at that school. <br />mary ann rodmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13639787144894232298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3934041490878801751.post-47125244727002215062013-10-01T08:10:01.702-05:002013-10-01T08:10:01.702-05:00We had a "Todd" in our class too.
